Films: Maniac Cop (1988), Maniac Cop 2 (1990), Maniac Cop 3: Badge of Silence (1993)
Alias: None
Type: Natural, then Mystical
Location: Civilized area
Height/Weight: That of an average human.
Affiliation: Evil
Summary: Sometimes, cops get a bad rep for being a little too excessive when dealing out the law. Not all cops are like this, of course, but you can imagine their horror and disgust when they think about the walking antithesis to their ways: Matthew Cordell.
History: After being sent to the Sing Sing prison for divulging in police brutality, Matthew Cordell was routinely tortured by the crooks he put in there. By the time he got out, he was reduced to a brain-damaged lunatic, seeking joy in the violent deaths of others.
Notable Kills: Drowns a guy in wet cement. Anyone whose seen a death like that explained will know how truly painful it is.
Final Fate: Matthew bites it when he gets rammed by a metal pipe while driving away. He then comes back as a voodoo zombie twice, getting involved with serial killers and even trying to woo another cop through questionable means. Both times, he is killed, the last time involving him getting immolated before someone uses his burnt arm as a lighter.
Powers/Abilities: Extreme durability, especially as an undead.
Weakness: Anything conventional.
Scariness Factor: 4-Anyone who hates police brutality will want to wring this schmuck's neck for his actions. You can only imagine the horror on anyone when the supposed keeper of authority lets you have the right to remain silent...forever.
Trivia: -There was a 4th sequel planned involving Matthew's spirit possessing a rookie cop, but frankly, the nightmare ended a long time ago.
-Matthew was played by Robert Z'Dar, whose cherubism allowed for him to have a recognizable look for several other b-movie roles, especially as villains.
